Early September
They swarmed the deck
red foxes in a pack
as if they were getting ready
for going back to school
sleek ordering new ripped jeans
and the latest phone.
It was still hot
totally un-shaded
on the deck and
Mom said be careful of them
foxes cannot be trusted.
